Before you arrive

  • Wear comfortable clothesBring shorts and a t‑shirt you don't care about getting a little roughed up. We'll lend you a gi if you want to try the traditional uniform.
  • Bring the simple stuffA water bottle, and sandals for off the mat. You train barefoot on the mat, and that's everything you need on day one.
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes earlyCome in early so we can say hello, show you around, and get you checked in.
  • Nerves are normalAlmost everyone walks in a little unsure, and it fades fast. Your first class is about learning the basics and getting a feel for the place, nothing more.

When you walk in

  • Check in and say helloThe front desk gets you checked in and shows you the space so you know where everything is.
  • Watch or jump inTotally your call. Many first‑timers jump right in. There's no live sparring until you're ready for it.
  • Meet the peopleThe camaraderie is what people stay for. Belts here are earned over years, and the people wearing them remember their own first class.
  • Decide with no pressureAfter class, we'll answer your questions. The price is on the wall and on this site. No hard sell, ever.

Where you are starting from

I'm brand new

Perfect. Everyone on these mats started exactly where you are, and there is no live sparring until you decide you're ready. Wear shorts and a t‑shirt; we'll lend you a gi if you want to try the traditional uniform.

Your first three classes are free, with no contract to start. Where you begin depends on who is training.

Adults

Fundamentals is the class you start in. It assumes no experience, and you stay in it as long as you want to.

Kids, ages 4 to 15

The kids program

I've trained before

Welcome back. Step straight into all‑levels, and into the competition path if a podium is the goal. We train gi and no‑gi, six days a week, under a coaching staff that still competes. Come say hello at the front desk and we'll get you on the mat.

Every class on the weekly schedule is open at your level, wrestling included on the same membership. Pick a day.

Frequently Asked:

Is the trial really free?
Yes. Your first three classes are free, and taking them commits you to nothing.
What should I wear and bring?
Shorts and a t‑shirt, a water bottle, and yourself. We'll lend you a gi if you'd like to try Jiu Jitsu in the traditional uniform. Train barefoot on the mat; sandals are handy for off it.
Do I have to spar on day one?
No. There's no live sparring until you're ready, and that's your decision, not ours. Your first class is about learning the basics and getting a feel for the place.
Can I just watch first?
Absolutely. You're welcome to watch a class before you train. Come in, take a seat, and see the gym for yourself.
Do I have to lock in for a year?
No. Every plan is available month to month. The twelve month plans cost less per month, and they are an option rather than a requirement.
Will I get hurt?
We teach control and injury prevention from day one. Expect to be tired and sore. Injuries are rare, and you decide when live sparring starts.
